Kaprun-Zell am See

THE LAKE. THE MOUNTAINS. THE GLACIER.

Why Kaprun-Zell am See?

There’s no doubt that Austria is full of picturesque ski resorts, and that’s certainly the case with Kaprun-Zell am See. As part of the Europa Sport Region, you’ll have over 138km of pistes, slopes, and runs to play with. This expansive terrain makes it an ideal resort for both experienced skiers and beginners. What’s more, the 3,000m-high Kitzsteinhorn glacier offers a view you really don’t want to miss.

Why Kaprun-Zell am See?

Linking up to the Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski circuit area means Kaprun-Zell am See now forms part of Austria’s biggest ski area, so you won’t be short on pistes to explore and stunning scenery.

As part of your ski instructor course in Austria, you’ll be treated to breath-taking views of the area’s three stunning mountains, including the inimitable Kitzsteinhorn glacier. It also offers fantastic levels of snowfall from October until July, making it a great getaway at almost any time of the year!

The glacier is open for snowsports year-round, while you can take advantage of Lake Zell either as a giant natural swimming pool or a frozen winter wonderland, depending on when you choose to visit.

What's the deal with the slopes?

With three mountains making up 3,400 acres of terrain you can take advantage of, there’s plenty to explore.

Boasting award-winning slopes that are easy to get to grips with and multiple snack huts, the area’s family mountain, the Maiskogel, is a great low-traffic option for beginners and those looking to hone their basic skills.

If you’re a bit more advanced, we recommend the Schmittenhöhe. Standing at 2,200km high with 77km of runs, it’s considered the mountain with the most picturesque view in all of Austria – but it’s known for much more than its breath-taking scenery. You can also take advantage of night skiing three nights a week to view the landscape in its tranquil evening setting.

For the most adventurous, the 3,000m-high Kitzsteinhorn glacier is the one for you. Providing a focal point for our training courses with GS runs, off-piste terrain, mogul lines, groomed pistes, a snow park, AND the biggest super pipe in Austria, this is the peak for thrill-seeking experts.
