Whistler 2011 Start of the Season

Whistler season start.jpg
Winding my way along the scenic Sea to Sky Hwy heading towards Whistler always brings a smile to my face….. ahhhh heading back to paradise! Last season was epic…I can feel this season being just as good, if not better! Looking forward to a new bunch of campers too!

The Bears are still out and about!

The Nicklaus North property has had a black furry visitor in the backyard over the past couple of days much to the excitement of Stuart ….he didn’t believe me when I said the Bears weren’t all in hibernation yet…but about half an hour later ‘Bosco’ (as I’ve fondly named him) came to hangout! Mike had his first Bear sighting as we were just leaving the Nicklaus North house…’Bosco’ was sitting on a driveway a few doors down, but quickly ran away as we drove near.

So happy to be back in Whistler…

These past few weeks have been a hectic start to the season, it’s super busy in resort with a lot of new people piling into town. There’s such a buzz in the village with everyone snapping up great deals on equipment and getting ready for opening day! We’ve had a few early arrivals in our Seasonal Accommodation and they are settling in nicely. Bring on the snow!

Whistler Welcome Week

The Whistler community have put on a wonderful welcome to all the new people in the resort, with so many events to help you get set up and find your way around….we piled along to the Fireman’s hall this morning for the cheap Pancake Breakfast…soooo good…. Luckily we made it in before the crowd was snaking out the door…. Tonight we went along to watch the preview of a new movie made by some Whistler local boys ripping it up…now we are all super pumped for the mountain opening this week!!!

It’s started snowing in the Village!  Woot Woot!

You can’t go past a $5 dinner….. the local community did a great job serving up just over 1000 people… we all well and truly got our fill even if we were in the last bunch of tables to get called up…. I think having the yummy Apple Crumble dessert first really helped! We were almost so full that it was nearly hard to fit  beer in afterwards…I said almost….so we ventured off to Tapleys, Cinnamon Bear and then Citta’s  was the last port of call before the walk home featured a snowman making event. Mike you are quickly getting to legend status!
