Slopestyle is going to the Olympics!

It is official, Slopestyle is going to be at the Winter Olympics in 2014!

IOC big wigs, whilst on a little jolly in Durban, South Africa, confirmed that Slopestyle, for both skiing and boarding, will be on the event list for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.

Unlike everything that comes from supersized International sporting bodies, this decision has been met with various opinions. Potential competitors and snow fans alike seem to be praising the move, going for the big tricks and big spins on the biggest sporting stage going. But the cynics amongst us are seeing this another way for the IOC to cash in, but after the huge successes of the introduction of skier-X and boarder-X can you blame them?

At Basecamp HQ we're all thinking its a great move, and may even give the Brits a chance of winning a medal in something that doesn't involve ice!

I'm off down to the snowdome to get practicing my underflips and rodeos.

Just to wet your appetite check out Bobby Brown showing us all how its done
