Skiing in Italy and the start of BASI 2 in Val d'Isere…

Week 4 in Val d'Isere is well underway and what a week it has been! With the recent snowfall every group has been taking full advantage of the fresh powder. Teaching for BASI Level 2 has commenced with the Basecampers putting their all into this next stage. Variable terrain and bumps training has put pressure on the thighs and knees. Howeve, everyone pulled through with a big smile on their face and great levels of enthusiasm.

On the performance side of the course the group has been making the most of the early February powder. A fantastic trip into the wild terrain of northern Italy saw the group venture into La Thuile. Under the watchful eye of their guides Uffe and Tchenko, the Basecampers experienced the challenges of approaching new and unfamiliar terrain. The opportunity to hit new lines and claim first tracks in virgin powder was greatly enjoyed by the 14 strong performance crew. After a hearty Italian lunch on the southern side of the border the group bid farewell and made their way back to Val d'Isere.

With heavy snow forecasted for the week ahead the entire Val d'Isere Basecamp crew has a lot to be excited about.

Until next time….

Joe and Jamie
