Jeremy Johnson 25 – Skiier – Meribel – 2004

Basecamp was an incredible experience. I gained my level 1 BASI, met incredible people and was able to be on a mountain everyday for 3 months.  My best memory was riding a powder day with our Basecamp instructor early on in the season, we all came down through this bowl, high up in Meribel valley. I was the last to ski it and at the bottom I looked back up to see our tracks perfect and parallel with the sun glinting through the cloud. I couldn't believe I had just done that… From that moment on skiing became and still remains today my private love affair. Because of Basecamp i went on to becoming Keele University snow sports society president for two years running and have taught a little voluntarily since then using my BASI qualification. I would recommend this course to anyone looking for that first adventure out of school. You're really well taken care of whilst given the freedom to do your own thing. For me it was the first adventure of many and 7 years after my Basecamp course I'm cycling solo around the world! Everything comes from something and my adventurous spirit flourished on my gap year, and for that I have the ladies and gents at Basecamp to thank.
