Early season is probably one of the most exciting time of the year at Lake Louise, as the snow starts to pile up we get more and more of our award winning slopes opening up each week.  Last week we scored a 25cm dump of the white gold, which completely changed the look of both the resort and the town of Banff. Of course our guys were out making the most of the powder with their trainers. The plan for the day quickly changed from focusing on their exams to focusing on getting face shots!

We currently have 5 of our upper mountain lifts operating, including the Grizzly Express Gondola and the famous Summit Platter. We are getting new terrain opened almost daily and more is expected to be open by the weekend.

Lake Louise is also fortunate enough to host the Winter Start World Cup, the first event on the Ski racing world cup circuit. We get all the worlds top skiers descending on the resort for a two week event, showcasing the peak of skiing speed performance. Training for the men starts this Wednesday with the races starting on Friday and the schedule repeats itself for the women the following week. More info on the races can be found here

Lake Louise is known for having one of the best parks in Canada and despite it still being early season we have a super fun set up. The rail line is very progressive and great for learning so I have had the snowboarders in there honing their skills at every chance we get.

The group has already gotten a great grasp on all the events that happen on a weekly basis in Banff, you can find them anywhere from the yoga studios to the wide selection of bars that are all within 5 minutes of the Basecamp building on Banff Ave. This week’s big event was a trip to the Rec center for a night on the ice with the Banff Curling Club. Thanks to local curling legend and club president Jim we had the group hooked in no time.

Once again the next video from Banff is in the works and will be popping up here very soon. This one has lots of good stacks from the group so its definitely going to be worth a watch.
