Winter has really kicked in in both the Town of Banff and at The Lake Louise Ski Area!
Last week we receive a pile of snow which meant 3 pow days in a row for the guys on course. The skills everyone learned the week before came in handy this week as their trainers took them through some of the best terrain the resort has to offer. This week the on snow time is focused towards honing their teaching skills as everyone’s CASI/CSIA level 1 exam begins next week.

Every year Lake Louise hosts the first stop of the World Cup Ski Race Circuit and Last weekend we had the men’s downhill and super g events. This event brings the worlds fastest ski racers to our backyard and what a show they put on. They descend a 3km course in less than two minutes with speeds reaching over 120km/hr. The ladies have been out training all week as their events kick off this Saturday.

Our French Basecampers have been showing off their cooking skills every week during what is now known as French Fridays. The night involves a classic French meal and lots of drinks to celebrate another week of training done.

Tonight I’m taking everyone out for some ice skating/hockey at one of Banff’s outdoor rinks. Lets hope those ski skills cross over to skating, if not im sure everyone will get a few laughs out of it,

Here is the video update from last week in Banff with some footage of all the snow we had and the curling night.
