Banff 2014, Exam Prep Week

update 33.jpg
Another great week is behind us here in Canada, the amazing spring weather has continued for another week, which made the final week of training for the level 1 exams super enjoyable.

The groups spent a lot of time this week dialing in their teaching skills for the exams. The CASI and CSIA level 1 gears you up to take someone from their first time putting on skis or a board to their first turns on the mountain so we were putting in time on the beginner slope learning all kinds of fun games and exercises. Of course it not all slow speed skiing, we had lots of time to work on our own progression as well.
The exams evaluate everyone on both their teaching skills and their skiing/riding skills. To pass the course you need to demonstrate a solid understanding of both.
In the evenings there’s no shortage of fun stuff to pass the time. This week we had the usual line of up movie night, bingo, bull riding, mountain film festival night and this week added a super bowl party on Sunday. A new pizza place, Boston Pizza, opened up and kicked off the party right with a free pizza buffet and super cheap beers.

This week coming we have a pretty relaxed start with the exam happening on the 3rd-5th but then its party time once again! Good luck everyone.
