So the Banff instructor training course has really gotten into full swing this last week. The first week of training with the Ski/snowboard trainers at Lake Louise went very well and everyone is starting to get to know the town of Banff and all the nightlife it has to offer.

During the first week of training the Groups were introduced to some of the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance and The Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors examiners who will be training and examining everyone throughout the length of the course.  The trainers spent most of the week introducing a new set of skills to the groups while exploring the 4200 acres of terrain that Lake Louise has to offer. Already we are starting to see improvements in everyone.

Everyone on a Basecamp course in Banff gets treated to meal vouchers at 6 different restaurants in town so there is no shortage of selection for the evenings meal entertainment. As Banff is a busy ski town there are usually a pile of evening activities happening as well. This week we were treated to a showing of several ski movies from the Famous Banff Mountain Film Festival at the Elk and Orsman pub in town. The showing included a prize giveaway as well and one of our group members walked away from the evening with a brand new Jacket from North Face. Sunday evening we headed up to the Banff Centre for an avalanche awareness seminar before finishing off the week with a few well earned drinks.
