Learn to ski in the amazing Three Valleys!
Sometimes it is hard to know where to begin, but that is where we come in!
If you are not sure where to start on your pathway to becoming a ski God, then this trip is for you! Come out at the start of the season in beautiful Meribel, quickly get the bug for skiing (as we know you will) and then have the rest of the season to be able to organise another trip and keep the dream going!
We can make your first experience on a ski enjoyable as part of a friendly group to share the hilarious falls and triumphant first turns!
What to Expect
We want to take the hassle away from organising your first ski trip! It can be unnerving not knowing what to expect or things you need to organise but we have years of experience running camps and holidays for people in Meribel so we can help!
- Catered accommodation in a shared room in the Mountain Lodge (single room available too for an additional fee of £180 for the week)
- Breakfast each day and dinner 6 nights a week
- 3 Valleys Lift Pass
- Group ski lessons from Mon-Fri (2 hrs of lessons a day)
- Ski & boots hire
- Return transfers from Geneva airport on set group transfer (leaving GVA at 15:00 on 16th and arriving GVA at 11:00 on 23rd Dec)
All you would need to do would be to book flights and organise travel insurance.
Here you'll find a week by week breakdown of your course.
Arrival Day Sunday 16th Dec
Arrive at Geneva before the group transfer leaves at 15:00. Travel to Meribel (around 2.5hrs in the minibus) and get settled into your rooms in the Lodge. Have a few welcome beers at the bar and then dinner will be served around 19:30.
There will be time in the morning to go down together to the hire shop and pick up skis and boots. Then your first lesson will start at 11:30 with BASS ski school. You'll be in safe hands with them! Then if you have any energy left, you can have some time to practice your new skills in the afternoon.
Days 2 - 5
Each morning you will have a 2 hour lesson to work on your skills, and then free time in the afternoon to practice and start exploring the Three Valleys by yourselves.
Final Day on the Slopes
On Sat 22nd you will have a final day on the slopes with no lessons, so a whole day to really show off what you have learnt, go further afield in the ski area and push yourselves to your limits of this first week. In the evening we will have a final meal altogether and make plans to meet up again maybe!
Departure Day - Sunday 23rd Dec
The group transfer will leave the Lodge at 8:00 after breakfast and get to Geneva by around 11:00. Book flights for after 13:00 to be safe.
This trip is aimed at those who have never skied before but would also suit those who feel they would benefit from beginner lessons even if they have skied a little before - to rebuild confidence or go back to basics so you can progress further. Others can join us in the accommodation this week too if you have a friend or partner who doesn't need lessons. Contact us for more information.
The Mountain Lodge in Mottaret is an awesome and social place to stay. It sleeps 22 altogether, with large living areas to socialise with others and relax in front of the big TV or play games in the dining area. We provide breakfast, afternoon tea and a relaxed two course dinner each night bar one. In a nutshell it is a great location close to the slopes, a fun place to stay if you are travelling alone and has everything you need for your first trip to the Alps!
Flying to Geneva is always the easiest option as most transfers leave from there and more flights go there too. Try and fit in with our group transfers leaving at 15:00 on the 16th and getting back to Geneva at 11:00 on the 23rd Dec. If you are unable to find a flight which matches these times then get in touch and we may be able to help you out, but it may be that you have to organise an alternative transfer for yourself. Best thing is to check the flight times with us prior to booking them!
We use a good ski shop near to the Lodge so you can walk down when you arrive and get your boots and gear fitted. The skis are generally new or at least very good condition, especially at the start of the season when you are there!
Contact us if you are unsure of the equipment or clothing you need and we can give you a kit list to guide you. Nowadays ski gear does not need to be expensive with cheaper providers such as Decathlon, Mountain Warehouse, TK Maxx and Go Outdoors all providing decent gear. We would definitely recommend a helmet and goggles for learning.
