Its Neigeing, Meribel Week 8

Week 8 of Basecamp Meribel has seen no end to the snowfall and quite a number of different conditions for both Performance and BASI Groups.

Performance wise the snow was excellent with some bluebird days for hitting high lines and some snowing days for hitting the amazing tree sections of the 3 Valleys. Instructor Arnaud was excellent and took the groups down some Meribel Classics such as Petit Alaska. Looks like plenty of snow for next week.

The pressure has been on the two BASI Groups with this being the final week before the start of the BASI 2 exams, The groups were concentrating on all aspects of the course including Variable Terrain, long and short turns and the Central Theme. Everyone seemed to be getting on really well and I had a lovely afternoon photographing the groups on the excellent Biollay Piste in Courchevel.

So as we enter Week 9 the BASIers have got an intense week of exams while the Performance Groups have much snow to play with while some people are going Heliskiing as well.We may even find time to fit in some Picnics and BBQs.
