London Freeze Festival

London Ski and Snowboard FSO4 Freeze festival

30th October – 1st November 2009

fso4_freeze_print_logo.jpgAfter the first and awesome edition of the FSO4 Freeze festival last year, the new edition will take place on the weekend of the 30th October 2009.

Be prepared for three days with spectacular snowboarding and freestyle skiing from a selection of the world’s best snow sports athletes, as well as pumping live performances from some of the world's best artists.

Base Camp will be there

As one of the leading company in the snowsport industry in UK, Base camp will be present at the London Freeze. So if you want more information on our instructor courses, seasonal accommodation or simply want to join us for a pre-season party come and say hi on stand number 16.

How was the first edition?

london_freeze1.jpgLast year the event had started with the FIS World Cup Qualifying rounds, with the jump hosting some serious action, with best trick being awarded to Marco Grillic.

The second day of the festival boasted some incredible jumps of the ski variety. Big Air world record holder Simon Dumont wowed the crowds with a perfect double front flip, but was pipped to the first place post by Sweden’s own PK Hunder, who bagged himself a gnarly $10,000 and became the fist ever London Freestyle Ski Champion!

Meanwhile, the main stage saw the crowd going wild for big live bands, the likes of which included The Automatic, Reverend and the Makers, Sergeant, and Cage the Elephant, a band renowned for great live performances and having the crowd work up a real sweat! Topping the bill were The Enemy, who blew the crowd away with a brilliant set to finish the evening.

Cypress Hill as guest star

london_freeze_cypress.jpgThe event went crazy over headline act Cypress Hill, the legendary hip hop group who had not performed live for over 5 years. Their set was incredible and had the big-top tent erupting with their explosive comeback performance. There are even some rumours the Base Camp team hung out back stage with them after their show..

The program and tickets for the new edition will be available soon and we will be reminding of you details towards the end of the summer. For information in the mean time please visit www.londonfreeze.com.
