THE PROS
Arnaud Rougier is currently one of the leading Freestyle skiers in Europe and a member of the French Freestyle Team. He spends his year travelling around the world to compete and was ranked 3rd in the world at half pipe during 2004. Arnaud is a fully qualified instructor and blends his everyday experience of training and competing with the coaching skills he has developed while teaching.
Damien Chailloux grew up in La Plagne, one of the French Freestyle meccas. Since he was young he has been passionate about freestyle and freeride skiing and has competed up to World Cup level. Last winter Dams won the North American Freeride Championship and he is currently sponsored by Volkl, Tecnica, Marker and Nike ACG. Also a qualified instructor, Dams brings his passion of the sport to his teaching and is one of the most personable and friendly coaches you will meet.
Not only does Neil McNair co-own and co-manage Alliance Snowboard School in Tignes, but he knows how to hold a trick or two down in the park, too. Neil is a top BASI instructor, as well as being fully accredited in France and has a huge amount of freestyle finesse to boot. Neil will teach our boarders to perfect their 180s and 360s, then move on to the pipe and backcountry, giving you an all-round look at what pros really get up to in their playtime.
SKIING AREA
Named after Jean Claude Killy, local hero and winner of 3 Olympic Golds in the 1968 Olympics, Espace Killy covers over 11, 000 hectares of snow fields and 300km of groomed runs. It also has two parks equipped with half pipe, the only double bowl in France, big air, hips, hand rails, boarder cross, and a multitude of small and medium tables.
TOWN
Val d’Isere is practically perfect. Not only does it have brilliant mountains, but the town itself is cosmopolitan, relaxed and vibrant. Located 3 hours from Geneva, Val d’Isere attracts Europeans from across the continent. There is a wide variety of entertainment facilities and activities, and a great mix of people to meet from all backgrounds all of whom are there to enjoy the area both on and off hill.
