The Banff tri-area is situated in the interior of Canada and is renowned for its dry light snow, unspoiled scenery, short lift lines, and guaranteed friendly hospitality. The Tri-area lift pass and bus pass provided with the course allows you to ski at Lake Louise, Sunshine Village and Norquay.

 

The 3 areas around Banff combine to provide one of the largest ski areas in North America and have some of the most reverred and exciting terrain in Canada. Whether its the backcountry at Lake Louise, the bowls of Sunshine, or the groomers at Norquay, there is something for you whatever your taste.

COACHING

 

• 5 days coaching per week with 1-to-1 coaching, video analysis and formal feedback reports.

• Ski school experience, tactical and psychological sessions, freeride and freestyle.

• Tri-Area ski and bus pass included - for Lake Louise, Norquay and Sunshine Village. 

• Programme based at Lake Louise but considerable time is also spent at Sunshine and Norquay

• Coaching provided is by predominantly level 4's (many courses simply use Level 2 & 3's)

The Lake Lousie Ski & Snowboard School share our focus of improving your skills while learning and having fun. With the ski school having the most Level 4's and over 10 years experience running courses, we feel this is the best coaching avaialable in the Banff area .

 

Emerson Brooks

Emerson is the Head Trainer of Lake Louise Ski School and Base Camp programme. He has been a full time ski pro for 14 Years and is a former Technical committee member. His long list of qualifications include: CSIA Level 4, CSIA Level 4 Course Conductor, final selection CSIA Demo team 06, CSIA Alberta Chair Person, CSIA Course Supervisor, Canadian Avalanche Association Level 1.

 

Daron

Daron has been boarding for 10 years - he hails from Saskatchuan and has now made Lake Louise his home. Drawn there by the vast quantities of light powder, challenging terrain and good fun, Daron is a fan of the whole mountain and can't cite a single favourite, raving that he "loves it all"! With a Level 1CASI freestyle qualification and hard-earned Level 3 teaching qualification completed, Daron is underway to gain his Level 4 this winter.

• CSIA/CASI Level 1, Level 2 &  Level 1 Freestyle, CSCF Level 1 Race Coach, CAA First Aid & CAA Rec Avalanche Course all including Manuals & Course Resources.

csia.jpgThe Canadian Ski Instructors' Alliance, founded in 1938, is an association with more than 20,000 professional skiers located across Canada and is a member of the ISIA. The level of excellence of instructors and ski school directors is internationally renowned and the CSIA is at the forefront of developing innovative and effective skiing techniques and teaching methods.

 

The CSIA system is split up into 4 Levels each one becoming progressively more difficult. On our North American courses you will take your Level 1 exam and, depending on your performance, we can put you forward for Level 2 as well.

 

CASI

 

casi2.jpgFormed in 1994, the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors trains and certifies snowboard instructors and coaches and ensures that a national standard of safe and efficient snowboard instruction is maintained.

 

CASI has a membership of just over 6,700 instructors and coaches now and is growing rapidly as the industry expands. The CASI system is also split up into 4 Levels, and you can take your Level 1 and 2 on the course.
